In your poster, use the following guidelines for fonts - Title should be in (no less than) 90 points - Names and address should be in (no less than) 60 points - Division titles should be in (no less than) 44 points - Section titles should be in (no less than) 36 points - Text should be in (no less than) 32 points - Bibliography items should be in (no less than) 24 points. - Items in tables should be in (no less than) 24 points. =========== FIGURES - Draw all figures with power-point INSIDE your poster. If you are drawing them outside the poster, you may have to enlarge or reduce them when you move them inside the poster, which may distort them. - If you are integrating figures from xfig (or other source) make sure the original is large enough so you do not have to enlarge it inside the poster (watch for `non-clarities' due to distortions). =========== GETTING READY FOR PRESENTING A POSTER. - Prepare a clear poster, with as many graphics as possible. - Your poster does not need to be one piece. It can be 3 large pieces. - Make copies of your papers on the topic available in a little envelop on the board so that people can pick up copies if they need to. - Make copies of your poster available in a little envelop on the board so that people can pick up copies if they need to. - Replenish the above pockets/envelops as they become empty. - Before the presentation prepare: - A 3 sentence statement about your work. - We study the problem X. - We do the tests Y. - We claim the results Z. - A 6 sentence statement about your work. - We are interested by the application A. - There is the gap B in our knowledge about A. - We study the problem X. - We propose the method C to solve the problem X. - We do the tests Y. - We claim the results Z. - A 6 sentence statement about your POSTER - Division i in the poster discusses topic_i (where i is 1....6, and topic_i is project summary, problem/solution, tests, results, discussion, and future work). - A 5 minutes speech that described the details of the poster. The rule for a good poster presentation is to attract the people to ask you questions about your work. Be succinct and let them ask you questions.
