CSCE 488: Computer Engineering Professional Development

Problem 1. Prepare a proposal for a 3-member team project comparable to the CSCE489 CE Senior Design. The proposal should contain

(a) An introduction to the general field of and motivations for the proposed project focus (1-2 pages).

(b) A description of the projected functionalities, main components, and physical appearance of the final product (1-2 pages).

(c) A description of the proposed approaches (designs, algorithms, hardware needed, etc) to realizing the functionalities of (b) and any appropriate and reasonable assumptions. (4-6 pages)

(d) A justification(s) of why the proposed project, along with the approaches to accomplish it, is feasible for the current team and available resources.

(e) Identify one key component or a scaled-down version of the proposed project that can be experimented on as an initial feasibility study and the term project for this CSCE488 class (1-2 pages).

You are to submit your proposal, one for each team of 3 members, through the CSCE 488 Web handin or ywant@cse.unl.edu in pdf format by 1:30pm on Monday, March 28, 2005.
